Despite sounding pretty terrifying, mastering the Snake and King Cobra elements is actually easier than you'd think. You'll shock everyone when you bust them out just right.
Let start with Snake.
Basic:
Snake is a combination of body wave and arm wave, requiring your body to control and arrange the waves to imitate snake movement. In specifc, some Chinese dancers created a detailed explanatory video:
Tips for practicing:
Ensure you roll your chest and shoulders. Snake requires a high level of coordination between the body wave and arm wave. Rolling your body serves as the connector for the waves.
Do not exaggerate your wave. The size of the wave is not the key; how you connect the wave and make it move like a snake is the key.
Then comes to King Cobra
Basic:
King cobra highly focused on body roll instead of waves. It requires dancers to "shake" their arms and hand while do "rolls".
In step tutorial:
No tips for practicing. Just practice wave and roll, these are foundation for all these type of elements.
