Scarecrow is a stylistic element developed by Boogaloo Sam in 1977. This move imitates the structure and movement of a scarecrow (especially the position where the scarecrow opens its arms and stands straight). So, why don't we learn from the original?

  • Basic

This tutorial clearly indicates the key elements of the Scarecrow:

  1. Bend your wrist but keep your arm straight.

  2. Bend your leg but keep your body straight.

  3. Try to create a diagonal between your hand and your foot. They should be raised in opposite directions.

  • Application:

Let's see how this element is applied in the music.

This is a really hardcore application of the Scarecrow. The pop and roll are added into the basic Scarecrow movement, while following the music. However, the Scarecrow can be showcased in a more subtle and fickle manner.

  • Variations:

This video successfully illustrated the some crazy way to use Scarecrow.
